AI researcher and software engineer

Researching intelligent systems and building the software that makes them useful.

I am Shane, a Toronto-based engineer working across computer vision, model evaluation, document intelligence, and production software. I focus on taking difficult technical problems from investigation to reliable implementation.

Machine learning research

Computer vision, OCR, multimodal perception, model behavior, evaluation, and data quality.

Applied AI systems

Document intelligence, fraud analysis, reasoning workflows, and human-in-the-loop review.

Software engineering

Product software, internal tools, APIs, secure data flows, automation, and production ML systems.

Practical research, careful engineering.

My work sits between machine learning research and software engineering. I investigate model behavior, establish useful evaluations, and build the surrounding systems required to put a model into practice.

I value reproducible experiments, clear interfaces, secure and observable systems, and honest assessment of failure cases. The objective is not simply a convincing demonstration, but software that remains useful under real operational constraints.
